We were so excited for Trail Trust to be present at this year's Sea Otter Classic in beautiful Monterrey, California. We set up shop at the FOX booth and spoke with hundreds (if not thousands!) of enthusiasts about the work we're doing to champion sustainable adventure for all. We were stoked to engage with the cycling community, educate them about our work, and hear about their passion for helping their communities. This was our first time attending the festival, and we made some incredible connections with potential partners from across the country.
In an effort to bring the Trail Trust mission to life, we partnered with adaptive bike manufacturer (and customer!), Bowhead, to lead a workshop for adaptive athletes and educate them on how to adjust their FOX suspension to achieve the smoothest ride. Joe Stone, Executive Director of the nonprofit Teton Adaptive, also contributed to the workshop by sharing some tips and tricks on what to bring out on the trails to be prepped for all scenarios.
We were also thrilled to welcome a group of over 30 girls from the Little Bellas Mountain Bike program at the FOX and Race Face booths. We taught them all about wheel basics and why suspension is important by incorporating some fun, kid-friendly activities - including using sprinkles! It was inspiring to see the passion of this next generation of female riders.
Overall, Sea Otter 2023 was a truly gratifying experience for the Trail Trust team. We are grateful for the connections we made and look forward to continuing to spread the word about Trail Trust!
